The bar in the middle of the restaurant is lit from below, and forms a division between the café and the restaurant area. Large, steel circular lights below the original roof form a visual link between the various areas. |

[tekst_nl] => Hoe maak je een gebouw dat ooit een bedrijfskantine was voor 250 man geschikt als cultureel centrum waar 1700 mensen zich goed en veilig kunnen vermaken? VASD ging de uitdaging aan met de Tolhuistuin, waarvan het casco inmiddels af is. Met respect voor de karakteristieke architectuur van Arthur Staal en een minimaal budget is een heel nieuw programma ingepast in het paviljoen. Er is ruimte gemaakt voor een gloednieuwe Paradiso-popzaal, een gigantische restaurant en grand café Staal, hiphopschool Solid Ground Movement , een expositieruimte, ticket office Noord en meer. Met de aanleg van het grootste en zonnigste terras en –balkon aan het water, is het gezicht van het gebouw naar het IJ gekeerd; pak de pont en komt het zien deze zomer!
